Brimbank's board will receive a $ 100,000 grant to support local innovations and start-ups.

Funding aims to improve opportunities for start-ups in suburban Melbourne and rural Victoria, with LaunchVic study showing only three per cent of start-ups Victorians come from outside Melbourne. Innovation Minister Philip Dalidakis said the funding presents opportunities for new businesses to start their projects.
"Every start-up has a role to play in the future of Victoria, whether they come from Mildura or Maribyrnong".
"This investment will allow regional Victorian start-ups to have access to the same resources as those in the city."
Brimbank's board will lead the Sunshine Business Hub, a program that will support the roll-out a workspace within the Brimbank Community and Civic Center and a program of meetings, events, master clbades and mentoring for local entrepreneurs
Melton, Maribyrnong, Hume, Wyndham and Hobsons Bay will also receive funding under the program.
