Two YouTube channels already banned
It's not uncommon for smaller play stores to start selling titles just before the official release date, but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is already out and about two weeks before its release date, December 7th.
We do not know exactly how Ultimate was found in the hands of consumers so sooner than expected, as it is highly unlikely that even the Mom and Pop stores will have the game as early. The speculation is that perhaps it has been leaked from a distribution center, but tangible evidence that we do not currently have.
Whichever method was used, at least one physical copy of Ultimate was made public and many other ROM versions managed to hack Nintendo Switch consoles.
Although no company is immune to potential leaks, Nintendo has a reputation for being one of the most difficult to solve. As you can imagine, the central gaming company does not take this session in its place.
Nintendo has been on the lookout, posting copyright strikes to limit leaks until December 7. Already, two music-based YouTube channels that have downloaded the filtered Ultimate soundtrack have been hit repeatedly, with Dystifyzer being about to be closed in a week and Crunchii already being touched by YouTube. You can find out more about these two on IGN.
We have included a pair of videos of RGT 85 and Spawn Wave, which offer additional details about this.
