Two adult tarantulas fear being free in a village after empty pots were found among others containing three babies.

The RSPCA stated that containers containing arachnids were found in a parking lot at Somercotes, Derbyshire, and two large pots had been spilled by a vehicle

It is believed that fully developed spiders – which can reach a length 10-inch leg – were unknowingly released.

Animal charity said that creatures would probably not survive long in British weather conditions.

"The woman who contacted us was naturally upset when she realized that the pots contained spiders because she was afraid of them," said Kristy Ludlam, inspector of the RSPCA. and the driver told the woman who called us that he thought he saw two larger spiders.

"No bodies were found, it is badumed that they escaped."

Ms. Ludlam said that the pots had been transported to a specialist. he said that he believes that arachnids are eating spiders of Brazilian birds.

"It is likely that spiders were unwanted pets that they were able to reproduce and decided to eliminate for some reason". The RSPCA would always ask people who are struggling to cope to let us know.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, committing an offense or allowing the escape of non-native species into the wild is an offense
