An all electric cruiser, very electric, arrives in the exhibition halls in 2020. In the meantime, he tracks the Los Angeles auto show.
Audi unveiled its 100% electric version of the clbadic Grand Tourer, revealing a glimpse of the e-tron GT directed for production in 2020.
Up to 4,96m long, 1.96 m wide and 1.38 m Large, dressed in an evolution of the Sportback form from the four-door A7 / A5 models, the team of Audi designers has certainly given the proportions of a GT worthy of 39, a large modern tourism. The body is composed of a combination of carbon fiber, aluminum and high-strength steel, apparently developed in partnership with Porsche.
In the foreground, the GT concept is changing the face of the company created by the e-tron quattro, with a seamless interpretation of the grille to a single image of Audi and edgy headlights angry. The front protections are inflated by prominent air vents for brake cooling, while the rear arches are suitably quiet and angry.
Unlike the current A5 and A7, the e-tron concept is rather rounded at the back, even if the diffuser still contains sharp edges and straight lines. We would go so far as to say that it is winding, which is a serious change from the standard in Ingolstadt.
As for the SUV e-tron production, an LED light bar covers the back, before extending to the angular outer brake lights.
The power comes from a pair of electric motors combining 434 kW, for a claimed 3.5 seconds sprint at 100 km / h. The maximum speed is limited to 240 km / h in the interest of preserving the range. According to Audi, the power can be mixed between the wheels, allowing the car to offer "just the desired glide" in the turns.
the 90 kWh the battery is good for a claimed 400 km driving on the WLTP test cycle, and a 800V charging system opens the door to 320 km of battery life from 20 minutes charge
Inside, the GT e-tron features a cab that seems essentially ready for production. The driver is confronted with a digital dashboard, while the dashboard is dominated by two touch screens. The first is dedicated to infotainment, the lowest is for climate control.
All materials, from seat upholstery to roof lining, have been created for sustainable driving. There are no products of animal origin on board – excite yourself, rich vegans. With two luggage spaces to work on – there's a 100 L trunk where the engine normally sits – you get room for 550 L of equipment.
