An Italian boxer died tragically after a battle for the title in Bangkok.
Christian Daghio, 49, a former Muay Thai and boxing champion, died in hospital after being plunged into coma following wounds sustained in the WBC Asia title match against Don Parueang on Oct. 26. .
He leaves behind his wife and five-year-old daughter.
The pictures show that Daghio was eliminated in the 12th round after receiving several punches to his head and face.
He was immediately treated by the medical staff of the ring before being rushed to a hospital in Bangkok.
Fabrizio, brother and director of Daghio, confirmed the news of his brother's death.
"Christian died because he wanted to die, it's in the ring," he told the Italian press. "He dreamed of fighting until he was 80 years old."
