The Circle of Winners CarAdvice 2018, Mandy Turner: Porsche 911 GT3

My choice of Porsche 911 GT3 for Winners Circle 2018 requires a story in return.

There is no other brand that makes my heart beat faster than Porsche. When I imported a 1974 red 911 from America in 2010, I understood that it was the type of car I was looking for a long time.

A car proud of its history, a magnificent car from all angles and a car using winding mountain roads as a playground. I ran it, I showed it, and I have cried when I scratched it. The Porsche pbadion in my blood was strong.

And then I did a stupid thing and sold it.

Several years later, I found a job at CarAdvice and still failed to launch a Porsche around the corners of a Sunday afternoon. I waited patiently for two years before I could drive a new generation 911, and that day finally arrived a few months ago.

For a car enthusiast, it's one of those scrapbook moments. When I entered the garage, it stopped me. I took a few steps back to observe it, then crossed my arms around it to take a look at the drawing. I did not even have to sit in it or start it, it was my appearance.

So when the time came to pilot the latest GT3 hard-core version (991.2), I was squealing like a little girl inside. Tell me that I'm not the only one to have already grazed the badge of the steering wheel of a special car? Because that's what I did.

I could talk all day driving, but the sound of the dial around the tachometer forced my hair to stay upright. Of course, you can have an adrenaline rush in parachuting or bungee jumping, but for me it's a Porsche GT3. It's such a pure supercar that not only makes you addicted to driving but is unforgettable.
