BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – The creator of "The Simpsons" Matt Groening says that his new show brings a new talent with a feminist touch to the adult cartoon circuit.
Groening pointed to the differences between the new project, "Disenchantment," and his previous work at a Sunday roundtable at a television review meeting.
The series stands out as an adult cartoon with a female lead. He follows the misadventures of an alcoholic lazy princess named Princess Bean.
The princess, voiced by Abbi Jacobson, the star of Broad City, has anything but a sense of purpose.
Executive Producer Josh Weinstein said that Groening says both "Monty Python and The Holy Grail" and the feminist style of "Broad City" Jacobson influenced the show
"Disenchantment" premiered on August 17 on Netflix
