Mushrooms are removed from Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and independent supermarkets
An urgent reminder of brown and white sliced mushrooms sold in Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and some independent supermarkets has been published on the fear that vegetables are
"The recall is due to the potential presence of large pieces of white plastic in the stamped punnets," says Food Standards Australia and New Zealand. "There is a potential danger if plastic pieces are swallowed."
"Consumers should return this product to the store for a full refund."
The recall is made by Mushroom Exchange, a company of the Costa group.
The recalled mushrooms are sold under the trademarks Coles, Woolworths, Karidale (Aldi brand) and Costa Mushrooms (independent) in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and ACT.
The products are 200g, 375g and 500g mushroom trays with the best before or use up to July 19, 2018.
The last recall comes after the popular brands of vegetables Frozen foods were removed from supermarkets across Australia this week for fear of potential contamination by deadly Listeria bacteria, which claimed the lives of six people in NSW and Victoria earlier this year.
