Authorities identified the gunman in a yoga studio in Tallahbadee and the two people he killed, as troubling facts about his past were revealed.
The Tallahbadee Police Service identified the gunman as Scott Paul Beierle, 40, the Tallahbadee Democrat reports.
He was killed on the scene Friday.
The department also identified the two people who were killed: Dr. Nancy Van Vessem, 61, and Maura Binkley, 21.
Dr. Van Vessem was an internist who held the position of Chief Medical Officer of the Capital Health Plan.
Florida State University President John Thrasher said Dr. Van Vessem and Ms. Binkley had ties to the university.

We deeply feel this loss and extend our deepest condolences to Maura and Nancy's loved ones as we pray for the recovery of the wounded, "said Thrasher in a statement.
The mayor of Tallahbadee, Andrew Gillum, Democratic candidate for governor, left the election campaign to return to Tallahbadee after the tragedy.
Mr. Gillum met with reporters near the scene of the shooting and said that he had visited two other survivors at the hospital. He said that they were in a good mood despite their injuries.
"We all feel more vulnerable" because of the shooting, the mayor said.
Tallahbadee police chief Michael DeLeo told reporters on Friday night that Beierle had killed six people and badped another before shooting himself in the back.
DeLeo said the authorities were investigating the possible reasons. He refused to say what kind of weapon had Beierle.
