The number of supporters of Modi increased from 43.4 million to 43.1 million.
According to SocialBlade.com, which tracks the number of Twitter followers on a daily basis, Modi's Twitter name (@narendramodi) lost 2.84,746 followers.
The nickname (@PMOIndia) lost 140,635 subscribers.
Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) lost 17,503 followers while congressional leader Shashi Tharoor lost 1,501,509 followers.
The microblogging platform was yet to come with an official statement about it.
