Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews defends his second government as a member accused of harbading an employee.
The promotion of Adem Somyurek, labor force broker, within the ministry comes after Andrews repeatedly attacked the Greens for his culture. It was revealed that one candidate had the habit of denigrating women and that another had been charged with rape.
Mr. Somyurek was removed from office in 2015 following allegations of bullying by his then-Chief of Staff, Dimity Paul, whom he has always maintained that they were still part of the factional confusion.
But Mr Andrews insists that Mr Somyurek is a changed man, when he was asked why the situation was different from that of the Greens.
"Adem Somyurek has lost his job, I think it's a very important call and a hefty price to pay," Andrews told reporters Wednesday.
"I think he's a better man than he's ever been and I think that's an important thing." If I was not confident about that, he would not be back. "
For the first time in the history of Victoria, the government will be divided equally between men and women.
MPs Jaclyn Symes, Gabrielle Williams and new MP Melissa Horne have also been added to the list.
John Eren, Natalie Hutchins and Philip Dalidakis walked away.
Dalidakis, who became Minister in 2015 to chair Somyurek, will now chair the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee.
The former Minister of Emergency Services, Jane Garrett, has also been seen proposing a parliamentary secretary position.
Andrews plans to name the ministerial portfolios on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.
However, they will not be sworn into the house of the government until all members are sure they have been elected.
Mrs Symes in particular is awaiting the confirmation of her election to the upper house.
