Wayne Bennett acknowledged that he could be fired by the Broncos by the end of the day, during an extraordinary and provocative press conference that confused information suggesting that he was about to accept early departure and take the reins of South Sydney for 2019.
Addressing Fox Sports after the press conference, Robert Craddock, a reporter at Courier-Mail, described the scene of an "almost whimsical" press conference at Red Hill, with Bennett appearing in front of the camera, without any member of the club management.
