WWE Grandmaster Sexay, Brian Christopher Lawler, Died at 46

Former WWE Champion Brian Christopher Lawler – aka Grandmaster Sexay – died after trying to commit suicide this weekend. Lawler's mother, Kay recounts TMZ Sports Brian died Sunday surrounded by family and friends after being placed under surveillance on Saturday night after a suicide attempt in prison. He was surrounded by his father, Jerry Lawler his brother, Kevin and other members of the family.

We are told that he died around 3:40 pm CDT.

As we reported … the guards found that Lawler had tried to hang himself in his prison cell outside Memphis. He was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition until late Sunday morning.

Lawler was arrested earlier this month for DUI after driving cops into a lawsuit. As we told you for the first time … the cops say it stank of alcohol and that he had a 12-ounce can opened in his center console and they stopped him right away. The bond was set at $ 40,000.

Brian had a successful run at the WWE himself, best known as the other half of the popular tag team Too Cool and as Scotty 2 The longtime wrestling partner of Hotty .
