Austin Trout vs. Terrell Gausha ends in disputed draw

Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Biloxi – In a cross-middleweight fight, Olympian Terrell Gausha (21-2, 10 KO's) and former world champion Austin Trout (31-5-1, 17 KO's) won faced in a draw. The scores were 99-91 for Gausha, 96-94 for Trout and 95-95 for the draw.

The live crowd saw Gausha as the big winner, loudly hooting the decision. The broadcast team at Fox Sports also saw Gausha win.

Trout has lost a twelve-round majority against Jermell Charlo from June 2018.

And Gausha came back from Joey Hernandez's first-round victory – a recovery after his first career loss to Erislandy Lara.

Gausha stepped forward, trying to repel the veteran and force him to put the rope.

Trout continued to be pushed back in the second half, with Gausha controlling the pace. The trout began to hold ground in the third, choosing to fight more often.

They chose their seats in the next rounds, and Trout closed his eyes as the action slowed down. Gausha was more tactical and hit hard. Trout was laying a jab and doing most of his work on the body.

Gausha threw new jabs at the beginning of the seventh round and his movement was causing a lot of problems for Trout.

Gausha had the advantage during the competition, hitting the punches cleaner. Trout was in the fight and continued to work hard, but his timing seemed a little off the mark.

On the tenth and final lap, Trout tried to change the tide by letting go of his hands. Guasha was keen on his boxing and managed the most accurate strikes.

A junior middleweight battle saw potential candidate Chordale Booker (16-0, 7 KO's) face veteran Wale Omotoso (27-4, 21 KO's) for a unanimous decision in ten rounds.

Booker dug the body and struck a lot throughout the fight.

The three judges saw the 100-90 contest.

Omotoso had just won a decisive victory over Freddy Hernandez last December.

Bantamweight prospect Shawn Simpson (10-0, 3 KO's) signed a six-round unanimous decision over Sergio Quiroz (6-2, 1 KO). The score of 60-54 was obtained by the three official judges.

Ahmed Elbiali (19-1, 16 KO) knocked out Marlos Eduardo Simoes (13-2-2, 5 KO) in the second round. Simoes dropped in pain, indicating that his jaw was broken and made the full count.

Upon arriving, Elbiali had won two straight KO matches since his unexpected defeat to former world champion Jean Pascal.
