Australian player Pokémon Go becomes first to reach level 50 in the world

It’s been almost two months since Pokémon Go increased its maximum level in the Go Beyond update. Going from level 40 to level 50, players have had difficulty reaching this rank since, one that included entanglements with UK authorities. Yesterday it finally happened like no one but of them the players finally achieved this goal.

It was first produced by FleeceKing, an Australian player who captured this moment via Twitch but it was a close fight until the end. Australian Fellow Lauren Bertoni Also reaches level 50 just 16 minutes later, making it a heated competition.

It happened as several Go players reached level 48 but were waiting for a timed requirement to advance. Unfortunately, they all found that their challenges were reset after reaching this level. This lead to Niantic investigating and when completed, Lauren’s level 49 requirements were set to be met. FleeceKing seems to have benefited in the same way, giving them a boost in the competition.

They still had to meet all the level 50 requirements, and that’s a tall order. This included gaining 30m extra XP, making 999 great throws, reaching Rank 10 in Go Battle League, 5 Legendary Captures in consecutive Legendary Encounters, and 3 Team Go Rocket Leader wins with Pokémon under 2500CP. Great demand, but they finally got there.

Are you still playing Pokémon Go? Will you try to reach level 50? Let us know in the comments.
