The 5G version of Samsung's first collapsible phone will not come to Australia.

If you want to spend your money and install yourself as the world's first mainstream foldable phone, you'll have to deal with 4G connectivity. Samsung told us that the Australians would not be able to choose between the Galaxy Fold 5G and 4G, they would just be satisfied with it.

No particular reason has been given as to why the Fold 5G will not be used in Australia, but, given the high, unknown but certainly high price, it must be inferred that this could be a factor. You can check our practice on the Galaxy Fold here.

Again, this particular product was always going to be a luxury item with an exorbitant selling price, you wonder why they did not just double and make it as good as it should be . This is essentially what Huawei did with the Mate X. Nevertheless, there is a good chance that the second-generation Fold is likely to come standard with 5G connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold will be launched in the future in Australia, but Samsung has yet to announce a final release date or pricing strategy for this device.
