Berlin Fashion Week is coming! A highlight for fashion lovers and all the designers who present their collections. In an interview with Spot on the news, Michael Michalsky reveals why he prefers to show his fashion.

Berlin and the world of fashion are in the starting blocks. On Tuesday, the five-day Fashion Week will begin in the capital. There, big and small fashion designers present their collections – from cool to extravagant, streetwear to future fashion. But one thing is certain: the German designer Michael Michalsky (51, "Let's talk about style") reveals in an interview with spot-on, why he does not present his Fashion Week fashion and what he thinks about the concept of the fashion week in Berlin holds. In addition, it gives first glimpses, what we can hope from its collection …

You will not present your collection as part of the Berlin Fashion Week, but independently. How is?

Michael Michalsky: I've always done that. I decided to do that too. On MICHALSKY's StyleNite, I not only showcase my new haute couture collection, but also combine fashion with artistic directions such as music, art and architecture. Every year, I look for a place that reflects my vision. The Tempodrom provides the perfect setting for staging my Dream Again collection.

Are you still a fan of Berlin Fashion Week?

Michalsky: Berlin Fashion Week is unique in the world. With its unique combination of events, the Vogue fashion show, off-site salons, and fairs like the Premium, it stands out from fashion capitals like Paris or Milan. I firmly believe in Berlin's fashion city. For me, it is probably the most creative metropolis of Europe.

Will you take the time to visit fashion shows this week?

Michalsky: Unfortunately, I do not have the time. During Fashion Week, I work on my own collection. It can happen that we work late into the night. For me, these are exciting days full of inspiration. But I regularly update myself on what my colleagues are doing creatively during Fashion Week.
