Just because "Fallout 76" is an element of survival, it's far from a survival game – says Todd Howard.

At E3 2018, Bethesda still called his "Fallout 76" a game of "softcore survival". However, game director Todd Howard does not want to love the multiplayer game more like a survival game: the comparison with this genre is not justified.
In the "Fallout" series swaying in one because of the post-apocalyptic setting, nuclear wasteland automatically using some survival elements. Until now, however, games have never been full survival games in the sense of "DayZ" or "Rust". When "Fallout 76" was announced, it initially seemed like the series was now going completely in the kind of survival. Todd Howard of Bethesda has now corrected some things against The Guardian
The word "survival" is shunned by developers
In the interview, Howard points out that developers avoid the word "survival" themselves, as with the players Create badociations to games like "DayZ" or "Rust". But these comparisons are inaccurate and do not reflect what they are working on. "Fallout 76" is a reminder of the survival modes that are playable in "Fallout 4".
