Sartorius: Laboratory equipment increases sales forecasts

Frankfurt Surprisingly strong business with the biopharmaceutical industry is encouraging laboratory supplier Sartorius with confidence for the ongoing exercise. The Göttingen company reported Tuesday its sales forecast for 2018 and now expects sales growth of around 12 to 15% in constant currencies. Until now, an increase of nine to twelve percent had been promised.

Sartorius still expects an increase in operating performance of about 0.5 percentage point from the 25.1% of the previous year.

In the first half of the year, Sartorius posted a 25% return. Operating income increased by more than nine percent to EUR 189.5 million despite negative currency effects, especially in the first quarter. Sales rose 8% to 758 million euros, adjusted for currency effects, the most slightly lower than 12%.

Sartorius posted the strongest growth in the Americas and Bioprocess Solutions, which offers biopharmaceutical technology, performed better than expected.
