The Galaxy S9 is selling badly – says Samsung

[ad_1]

Samsung has presented its quarterly figures and must give it a painful detail: the Galaxy S9 is selling badly. The current flagship product of the leader of the smartphone market does not shoot like its predecessors.

Times for smartphone makers are not easy. The global market is growing more rapidly and relatively new brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Huawei are causing problems for Samsung. Although Samsung does not give exact numbers on the number of units sold in the quarterly figures, it repeatedly complains of the weak demand for the Galaxy S9.

Samsung expects the smartphone and tablet market to be in the second half of the year. A realistic badessment, after all, already provides for trade planning, in the middle of summer, in the Christmas season, in which most devices are shut down. However, this has not been different in recent years, and that does not change the fact that the Galaxy S9 is selling worse than its predecessors – and worse than expected.

Bad for Samsung, good for customers

As poor as Samsung's weak sales are, the news is so good for customers. The Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 + are likely to fall in the near future, at the latest when it comes to Christmas, strong in price and cheaper than it was the predecessor at the moment. Samsung smartphones are already subject to a sharp drop in prices, the Galaxy S9 should be even stronger.

The Galaxy S9 is anything but bad, on the contrary. Although Samsung is no longer technically above the competition and the Galaxy S9 is not necessarily one of the most exciting smartphones of the year, it is without a doubt one of the most best models on the market. Despite some criticism, this is also reflected in the long-term test of the Galaxy S9.

Looking forward to the Galaxy S10?
