The creators of the game are also responsible for the "Grand Theft Auto" series, ie long, complex epics that regularly push back the boundaries of what a video game can do. His latest game, the "GTA V" based in a virtual Los Angeles, tells his story from the point of view of three different protagonists, who must be changed again and again and whose life ends up becoming a criminal drama.

RDR2: The Last Heroes of Firearms Stand Up

Well, there's another gigantic game like this, and this time you only play one man: the outlaw Arthur Morgan, who joined the Van der Linde gang while He was a teenager, with whom he is now – in his mid-thirties – still continues to travel around the country and dreams of a better life in the West. We are in 1899. The west coast of the United States is not even fully developed. At the same time, the age of the outlaws is already over. Butch Cbadidy and Sundance Kid, for example, make their last flight in 1901, after which they do not flee. The game throws its players in the middle of the Wild West Götterdämmerung. This world does not really have room for firearm heroes, but the latest ones are still bothering them.

The first part of the game was even set in 1911, actually far too late, this time you are experiencing prehistory. The protagonist Arthur Morgan is part of the Dutch van der Linde gang and will also meet John Marston (whose first part of the game revolves around death and death). The group is a real "family": a woman and a child are also part of it. It is not just flights and revolvers, but simply survival.

The game starts in the snow (a first quote: the only major Western movie to have tried is "Pave Coffins His Way" with Klaus Kinski). The first hours, you will have to torture yourself by the snow storms and find a new camp laboriously. The gang is apparently on the run after robbing a thief and some have died. What happened exactly, Arthur, who was not there, will learn much later in the game.

So there is a great story about loyalty and betrayal, about men's honor and failure, but it's told so broadly that you often forget it. Whoever plays this game, first dreams of sabotaging one day. You have to ride, ride, ride – at the beginning there is no "quick trip", like in other games with a big world – so, which has to go from A to B, it goes up, and sometimes it takes several minutes . After all, the world is breathtaking. Above all, the game obviously wants to slow down its users a lot. This should perhaps suggest a feeling of everyday life in the Wild West: most of the time, there was nothing to pull. But only to travel long distances.

And then everything can always go very fast. Three men stop us at a junction. Only one group of gangsters took a car full of rifles illegally smuggled. Now, three darklings compete against the player. He can now always decide if he first tries to dialogue – and may choose to appease or provoke – or can fire the revolver. Shooting is not easy to master, you will usually need to predict exactly what weapon to use, where to go and how long. If Arthur is rested, he can briefly activate the "dead eye" mode and slow down the time. This will be necessary for many attackers – it always comes down to regular mbad shots in the match.

The main story is then told about the tasks to be performed. Often, the orders come from the Dutch, the leader of Gang, a sort of paternal figure. And then, you should also go to the nearby village to get drunk in the saloon because he is in shock after an imminent arrest – a beautiful scene in which the image begins to wobble and the player experienced a kind of tearing of movie. Suddenly, new tasks arise. We meet an ex-girlfriend, with whom there was apparently an ugly separation years ago – but now she needs help because her little brother is struggling with a sect. Or again: a reporter is afraid of the four famous flingers that he should represent and asks us if we can replace him.

Moreover, the story of the executioner Arthur Morgan continues to be told little by little, from elsewhere. Until now, there is always a break in video games between pure gaming scenes and more cinematic sequences in which one can sit and watch the progress of history – the so-called saying "cutscenes". In this game, there is no contrast at all. Everything blends perfectly into each other, feels like a means of unity that combines play and cinema.

It takes between 50 and 100 hours to read the entire story, and virtually no commentary that appears at the beginning of the game is written knowingly (not even this one). However, this soon indicates that a tragic decline is imminent. How could it be otherwise with this world at the very end of an era, with a life strangely dominated by men against the modern.

As in any great drama, a bitter end should wait for the player. Anyone who is afraid of it, but has every chance to wade. Here you can play poker or pick some herbs. Get to know the 19 horse races of the game and their peculiarities. Collect money for windy loan sharks. Shave yourself or spend a night at the hotel, buy clothes and cook. Flirting with women (and getting angry because our Arthur is obviously very inexperienced). Such a detailed and great world has never been seen before. This can be annoying because you feel that you can not go further. But who likes to get lost in a virtual world, now gets the perfect game. Because it wants to be a whole life.
