A swimsuit made her famous, but her love was always for the theater: Cornelia Froboess celebrates her 75th birthday. "It's still an adventure anyway."
Cornelia Froboess plunges for 75 years. No interviews, no public party. The actress goes on a trip and spends her day of honor on October 28 in Switzerland.
"Even I can not get rid of my flowers," said her agent, adding sadly, "She still has so much to tell."
Because it's been more than six decades since Froboess became a star, a star. With the song "Pack the Swimsuit on", she pronounced the anthem par excellence of Wannsee in the early 50's. Often, the "Berliner Göre" as at the time in the skirt with Peter Kraus, who was then celebrated as the German Elvis Presley. Both were considered a couple of young dreams, his hit "When Conny with Peter" became a hit. Alongside Peter Alexander, she played in the movie "The Pattern Boy" and sang "In love, bride, bride".

"I do not believe that it is possible to make up for lost time," she said shortly before her birthday in an interview with the German news agency. "You can move on to new lifestyles, yes, but if it makes you happier, you'll discover it, it will always be an adventure."
Already in the 1960s, she turned her back on her first career in showbiz, rather devoted to the light muse. Theater – "It was a dream for me," Froboess said. After acting lessons with Marlise Ludwig in Berlin, she had her first engagements at the Salzburg National Theater. Not only to present themselves as in the world of rhythms, but to enter other roles, this has become their professional life. Minna de Lessing, Lulu of Wedekind, the mother of Brecht Courage – Froboess played the great female roles of the theater – and again and again the broken guys.
She found her artistic home in Bavaria, where a mother of two still lives today. From 1972 to 2001, she was a permanent member of the entire Münchner Kammerspiele, then joined the Bayerische Staatsschauspiel with her director and good friend Dieter Dorn. More recently, she was there in 2014 – under the direction of Dorn's successor, Martin Kusej – in "Bunbury" on stage.
