The Cleveland Browns fired their head coach Hue Jackson on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Jackson coached the Browns since January 2016, winning only 3 games, 36 losses and ending a duel.
As the offense was not made to work, this first change was probably made. In addition to former head coach Hue Jackson, offensive coordinator Todd Haley should also be sitting in the hot seat.
UPDATE 29.10.2018 – 18:15: As already badumed above, offensive coordinator Todd Haley was released. Thus, the "household" continues happily.
Haley was only hired in January after being the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers for six years.
Under Haley's leadership, the Browns-Offense scored just 342.4 yards per game, making them 24th in the championship. Even with the average points scored per game, the Browns are in 24th place with 21.1. In addition, they recorded only 31.2% of their third attempts (Ligarang 30) and 36.4% of their fourth attempts (Ligarang 28). The offense had to fight in addition to the penalties. So, the offense had 65 penalties for 511 yards (third worst value).
Overall, the Browns offense is 30th in Ligaranking.
Chief Executive John Dorsey worried about the growing gap between Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley and the resulting pressure on rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, who did not know which coach to engage in the media.
Cleveland has lost four of its last five games, the last being a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
