According to the Robert Koch Institute, the latest influenza episode was the most intense since 2001 and this year it could hit the Germans hard again. This is reported by the Klinikum München. Although the past years have been alternately strong and weak, influenza episodes have increased in recent times.
Context: How to recognize a flu
A flu occurs suddenly – and with a strong sense of illness. Symptoms:
- aches,
- Cold symptoms,
- Shivers and
- high fever.
The patient feels miserable, weak and helpless and has to keep the bed for at least a week.
For a clear diagnosis, a blood test is necessary. Because the flu is triggered only by the flu viruses. An influenza infection, however, may have different triggers.
