With 500 branches and more than 11,000 employees, Hofer is one of the largest players in the local food distribution sector. In the last four years alone, the number of sites has increased by 50. We last concentrated in Vienna, where more than 100 branches attract customers with the acquisition of Zielpunkt sites and new buildings. Hofer is currently leading in the race for growth against Rewe and Spar.
Since Sattledt, Hofer also manages the markets of Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary and, more recently, Italy for the Aldi group. The successful entry on the Italian market is one of the merits of Gnther Helm. He also encouraged the future development of the group's international purchases.
