Amazon expands its Apple product line

Seattle / Cupertino, Calif. (APA / Reuters) – Amazon is expanding its offering of Apple products. Shortly before the start of the Christmas business, the two US technology competitors agreed to expand their cooperation until then limited. The world's largest online retailer announced Friday the sale of the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and other devices in the United States, Europe, in Japan and India in the coming weeks.

Until now, Amazon only offers a limited range of Apple products such as Mac computers and Beats brand headphones. Apple's HomePod streaming speaker, which rivals its online counterpart of Amazon, Echo, and the Alexa voice service, however, is not part of the new offering.

Amazon, Apple and other American technology names, such as Google, have little collaborative power because of the competition between their devices and their services. However, Amazon and Apple have now overcome these differences to increase sales during the key period of retail sales of the year. This new partnership also shows that Amazon's market power continues to gain importance for major brands such as Apple and Nike, who have long refused to distribute their products through the online retailer.

At the same time, Amazon is more opposed to counterfeit brand products. In addition, from January 4th, Amazon will remove from its offer third-party Apple products, which are not authorized by the manufacturer of the iPhone. Nevertheless, customers should be able to continue to purchase unbranded accessories, such as headphones, from the Internet store, which is compatible with Apple devices.
