Arthur Curry aka Aquaman is not exactly the most glamorous superhero of the cartoon world. If he does not dive into the water, he can not hand him over to his Justice League colleagues; his ability to speak with fish is more often mocked than celebrated.
That should change now. Muscle Mountain Jason Momoa gives Aquaman a new bearded face and grumpy charm. In the DC Allstar Ensemble, he was already on the screen ("Justice League", 2017), now he begins his first solo adventure.
In the first trailer of the blockbuster, it does not even look so bad. For a long time, the director James Wan took his time with the preview, but now he shows the fans the two bad guys who are after Aquaman. The pirate Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) wants to make him sizzle with his eye lasers; Arthur's half-brother, Orm (Patrick Wilson), is fighting with him for control of Atlantis.
Nicole Kidman, considered the mother of Aquaman, Queen Atlanna, also receives a concert in the caravan; Love Interest Mera (Amber Heard) is allowed to fall from a plane without a parachute. This last action also provides the greatest moment of tension in the preview. The plane roars on endless sand dunes, no water is in sight. Let's see what the oasis is targeted for.
