With the current variance of the platform, the Resurrection has finally regained its time slot – and was allowed to make up for the two-handed waiting period in the rich treasure of the Munich Arsenal: all that which is good and expensive now has premieres -Model presented model M850i ​​on board: eight-cylinder twin, four-wheel drive, eight-speed automatic, electronic limited slip differential, adaptive sport suspension, four-wheel steering and – yes, even in the ear – a flapper exhaust system. This power responds to about 1.9 tons of empty weight, which makes it go from a stop in 3.7 seconds to 100 km / h. With a weight ranging from 4.84 meters out of the 2.82 meters length to the wheelbase, the lightness of the foot is not necessarily the main driving experience that drives the M850i ​​- but the sovereignty. The four-wheel drive designed for the rear wheels also allow, in comfort mode, to distribute the excess power well dosed on the rear wheels, but it also begins with evidence. Thanks to the more aggressive response of the limited slip differential, sporty and sporty driving modes are a little more casual, but still free of fear and without the feeling of having touched the border. It only opens when the stability aids have been switched off – but even in this case, the mechanical qualities remain sufficient for sweaty handling of the valance.

Not even acoustically, the M850i ​​never really loses its composure: even the flapping of the exhaust gas ends when the gas is removed behaves like a slight cough behind closed doors against V8-Geboller earlier. If you want a little more robust, you have to wait for the M8 next year, which will probably give a different touch. Or rather windy? The eight-cabriolet starts in March 2019. Even a ramification with four doors, a Gran Coupé, there will be one.

Because of the total technological endowment, the customer of the M850i ​​is in fact held only by the choice of colors and the line of design: elegant chrome appearance or cooling of the carbon case? Who really has everything, can at least control the selector lever and the buttons of the crystal console lead trimmed Swarovski. Even the leather interior is already part of the standard range, as are the new variable-graphics digital instruments and the latest-generation infotainment system, including gesture control and remote update via the Internet. For the launch on the market in November, the price of this complete set for the V8 gasoline engine is 145 950 euros, alternatively, an in-line six-cylinder diesel engine and 320 hp to 112 200 euros.
