Blocking function is ineffective for 800,000 users

On Facebook, a bug caused the blocking feature of 800,000 users to be ineffective. For Facebook users who had blocked other users, it was obviously embarrbading because a blockade usually has good reasons. For example, the blocked user may have noticed unpleasant messages before. Facebook has solved the problem in the meantime.

Also on Facebook you can possibly provide more privacy, including simply blocking unpleasant users. So, we can protect ourselves, if some people are annoyed by the hostility or the stalker type contact, or if after the end of a relationship, we do not want any contact with a person, who also has a Facebook account. You can also exclude other people from posting entries and photos on the blocker's Facebook page. However, as reported by The Verge, among others, a bug on Facebook has partially obscured this feature.

According to this, about 800,000 users have been affected by the problem, in which the blockade has been lifted and troublemakers can become active again. According to an entry on the Facebook blog of Erin Egan, head of Facebook's privacy protection, the bug was active from June 29 to June 5. In some cases, the blocked users could only redirect the functions from which they were actually excluded. The problem is, according to Facebook, now yesterday's snow and should no longer occur. Users were most likely affected by the blockage of only one person.
