Clifford Chance strengthens his practice of arbitration with a prominent newcomer. Dr. August changes to Moritz Keller (40), currently Head of the Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Arbitration practice in Vienna, Frankfurt. At Freshfields, he was appointed lawyer early in 2015 when Clifford Keller joined the team.
Moritz Keller
Moritz Keller began his career 14 years ago as a PhD student at Freshfields. He first worked in the Frankfurt conflict resolution team of Boris Kasolowsky with whom he headed an investment protection process of WestLB's successor, Portigon, against the 39; Spain.
In 2014, Keller moves to the Vienna office. There, he worked closely with Dr. Günther Horvath, who is considered by many to be a leading figure in international arbitration. In addition to banking, commercial and corporate litigation, Keller was also involved in investment protection proceedings, often with Odo. As a representative of a party, Keller heads an ICSID case against Croatia and represents in tandem with Kasolowsky in another case, Albania.
After 40 Years of Freshfields Happens Porsche
In the Viennese Arbitral scene, Keller was considered the crown prince of Horvath. After Horvath became president of the VIAC Arbitration Institution in May 2017, Keller inherited responsibility for his practice. More recently, it became known that Horvath was proposed as a member of the Porsche SE Supervisory Board and retired from Freshfields after almost 40 years. The Viennese arbitration practice will initially be headed by Kasolowsy of Frankfurt, who also took the lead in Freshfields' global arbitration practice in March.
The practice in Vienna has many Austrian VW procedures on the table and exists after Keller's departure of three partners, a lawyer and eight badociates. Freshfields' conflict resolution practice loses with Keller the second young talent in a few weeks.
