Cloudflare Introduces Mobile App for DNS 1.1.1.1 Service

Cloudflare has a mobile application for android and iOS, which aims to simplify the use of its DNS 1.1.1.1 privacy-based service. The service is also adapted to avoid Internet blockages in repressive states.

The application directs any DNS traffic through Cloudflare's DNS servers. As a result, ISPs are no longer able to spy on the traffic of a user by retrieving DNS logs. It is also intended for journalists and activists who want to access inaccessible Internet content, for example through the control of DNS servers by the state.

Basically, users who want to use the name after its 1.1.1.1 IP address service, only modify the settings of the preferred DNS server by 1.1.1.1 address. However, on mobile devices, this may not be as easy as on a PC.

The Cloudflare mobile app now wants to simplify this process. When you start for the first time the application will be for this purpose VPNCloudflare Profile indicates that other VPN services will stop working while the application is running.

After installing the VPN profile, for which a security warning must be confirmed, the application simply displays a button that changes the DNS settings or returns any DNS requests via VPN to the 1.1.1.1 address. Then the application can be reduced and run in the background. Cloudflare promises other benefits of its service: "1.1.1.1 encrypts your DNS queries and ensures that ISPs can not sell your DNS data. At the same time, we are 28% faster than other public DNS resolvers, "says the description of the application.

The application is now available for free. Cloudflare offers them in the Google Play Store under the name "1.1.1.1: Internet faster and safer". In the Apple App Store, it's called "1.1.1.1: Internet faster" for iPhone and iPad.
