It is not in vain that the tuber is also called aspirin of nature. Several years ago, Iranian scientists conducted a study on the effects of ginger on cholesterol levels.

To this end, the researchers divided 95 subjects into two groups. For 45 days, one group a day should take three capsules containing a total of three grams of ginger. The other group received a placebo.

Even then, the results published in the journal "Saudi Medicine Journal" showed the positive effect of ginger on blood lipid levels.

New study confirms positive effects of ginger

A new Iranian study, published in the journal "Phytomedicine", once again confirms the positive effect of the tuber on lipid levels in the blood.

The research team from several Iranian universities included twelve studies with a total of 586 participants in their meta-badysis.

The results show that the inclusion of ginger in the diet can reduce triglyceride levels in the blood and bad LDL cholesterol.

On the total cholesterol level and on the contents of a good HDL cholesterol, ginger consumption had no effect.

Two grams of ginger a day

Since the individual studies reviewed here differ significantly from each other, they have been divided according to the respective dosage of ginger in the groups.

It has become apparent that a small daily amount of ginger of two grams or less is sufficient to reduce both triglyceride levels in the blood and total cholesterol.

The scientists concluded from these results that ginger consumption can have a positive effect on blood lipid levels.

However, more important studies are needed to confirm these results definitively.

Anyone who suffers from high cholesterol levels should not rely entirely on ginger despite the positive effects, but should generally change their diet and ensure sufficient physical activity.
