EBREICHSDORF / STEYR. ÖFB Cup: With the Ebreichsdorf of the Eastern League, forward SK Steyr shot an unpleasant spell for the first round. For coach Gerald Scheiblehner Friday, only victory counts

After five preliminary matches, it will be serious for the SK striker on Friday. The 2018/19 season begins with the first round of the ÖFB Cup at ASK Ebreichsdorf (19 hours, at the Sports Center Weigelsdorf).

With the runner-up of the Regionalliga Ost, the Red-Whites drew an unpleasant spell. A match at eye level is expected. "It's an ideal rehearsal for the championship," says coach Gerald Scheiblehner, for whom the game is not a test. "The Cup is a very important event for us."

In two home matches against the Bundesliga have been able to win over the past two years by significant revenue from Losglück. "This year we are Bundesliga players and we have to play in a home game," said Scheiblehner. For the instructor of Red-White is therefore only a victory. "We will do everything we can to win the match."

Staudinger on the front

Ebreichdsorf was second last season in the mighty Regionalliga Ost and was only slightly overtaken by Austrian Vienna in the ÖFB Cup. The Lower Austrians, however, gave up promotion in the 2nd division.

As last year, Bernhard Staudinger is ahead of the ÖFB Cup, Captain Reinhard Großalber takes his place on the bench. Except Christoph Bader, all players are fit. Among the new acquisitions should be only Lukas Gabriel in the starting line.
