In Germany, the spread of a new dental disease continues to increase. As the portal "merkur.de" reports, dentists still can not determine the exact cause of "chalk teeth".
According to the report, more and more dentists are warning against so-called "chalk teeth" in children. The teeth gradually collapse, becoming yellowish-white to yellow-brown in color and extremely sensitive to heat, cold, or chemical stimuli.
The surface of the tooth is also rough and streaked. In addition, for dental caries, "chalk teeth" are much more sensitive.
As the portal explains the German Society of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the cause lies in a disorder of enamel mineralization. This could be caused, for example, by problems during pregnancy, infectious diseases, antibiotics, chicken pox, dioxin and upper respiratory tract disorders.

However, the exact cause continues to be outstanding, write medical badociations.
According to the president of the German Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Norbert Krämer, about 10 to 15% of children on average suffer from this disease. Recent studies would even reach 30% by the age of twelve.
The chalk teeth must therefore be described as a new and widespread disease, Krämer.

The disease, referred to in the jargon as molar incision hypomineralization (MIH), was first described in 1987. Currently, the spread of the disease continues to increase. Thus, the first dental lesions were recorded even in the fetus during the eighth month of pregnancy.
