Electrical industry: the EU commits millions of dollars

BRSSEL. According to the European Commission, consumers in Europe have been paying too much for electronic products for years.

Yesterday, the European Commission fined the computer manufacturer Asus € 111 million on Tuesday. The consumer electronics brands Denon, Marantz and Pioneer are deceived. Companies would have illegally imposed on online retailers fixed or minimum prices for the resale of their products. If resellers resisted, they faced threats or refueling.

Thanks to the cooperation of the companies, the individual penalties were reduced: the biggest penalty with 64 million euros of Asus. Philips has to pay nearly 30 million euros. Consumers and injured companies can bring an action for damages in national courts
