With the recent beta release of the upcoming iOS 12, Apple has unwittingly betrayed an index of innovation for the iPad. A developer discovered in the iOS 12 code that the next generation of iPad is equipped with FaceID face recognition.
The developer Steve Troughton-Smith released the details that he discovered on Twitter (via AppleInsider). There, he shows how the Animojis, which the band released for the first time with the iPhone 8 last year, now runs on iPad with iOS 12. The AvatarKit needed for the iPad. Animojis is officially available only for the iPhone X, but now in iOS 12, it is now also on the Apple tablet. The logical consequence: Apple is working on a new generation of iPad, which has true depth camera technology for facial recognition, otherwise the code discovered in the beta does not make sense.

Other features, such as in the field of gesture control, now seem to suit the iPhone X for the next iPad.
In March, vendor circles also demonstrated that Apple has ordered many more FaceID modules than before.
When the iPad is equipped with FaceID is now only a matter of time. If Apple stays true to its previous update cycle, the new iPad should appear soon.
The iPad Pro 2 was introduced in June 2017, so the successor is almost late.
