Mozilla will integrate a task manager into its Firefox web browser version 64 or higher. The new feature replaces a relatively simple tool that can already be reached by entering "about: performance" into the address bar. On the other hand, the upcoming task manager should be accessible directly from the main menu ("Miscellaneous").
"The new Firefox 64 tool is more than a new layer of paint for the previous tool," writes web developer Sören Hentschel in his blog devoted to the in-depth coverage of the Mozilla Firefox creator. In fact, it shows the consumption of resources in a well-organized array, which affects browser performance and provides the means to contain it.
The first column lists Web pages or extensions and links to detail pages. The second clbad is resource consumers. A third informs about the summarized load as "energy impact", rated as high, medium or low and also quantified.
When the mouse pointer goes over a line, it offers icons to close a tab capturing resources, or at least to stop its access to the JavaScript engine. If steps need to be taken against the extensions, an icon will lead to their detailed view, which will disable or uninstall.
From Firefox 65, another column is added, which provides information on the corresponding memory consumption. The performance and memory usage information should also be retrieved from the panel that you can access through the information symbol at the beginning of the address bar.
