Galaxy S10: New concept for Samsung's flagship product

[ad_1]

The Galaxy S9 is followed by the Galaxy S10. Samsung will probably present its new flagship product at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. And again, the smartphone is available in at least two versions: Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 +. There is also speculation on a third version called Galaxy S10 Lite. Although the show is still in several months from now until the end of February 2019, the cover is already in full swing. In this message, we summarize what you can expect from the new S10 series.

New Galaxy S10 watch concept on Android 9.0 Pie

After recently, some new information on the upcoming Galaxy S10 series in the rumor have gone around, now follows the visual representation. Failed designer and expert Ben Geskin picked up the latest rumors and then created a concept for the future Galaxy S10. Here, it is primarily on the much-alleged 93.4 percent fall-to-body ratio. The model is shown here with very thin edges. In addition, the edges are clearly visible here.

– Ben Geskin (@ VenyaGeskin1) October 26, 2018

The new Galaxy S10 concept also shows what the solution might look like with the front camera on the screen. A similar design has already shown the previous concepts in which the front lens was simply surrounded by display. In addition, Ben Geskin also shows the triple camera expected at the back. The objectives are arranged horizontally next to each other in this concept, the central objective being slightly enlarged.

In addition, it lacks the back of each trace of a fingerprint sensor, because it was still seen on the Galaxy S9. This should, as it says, sit on the Galaxy S10 under the screen. Finally, the concept of Ben Geskin also shows the user interface under Android 9.0 Pie. However, since it is only a concept based on rumors, it does not necessarily mean that we see here the design of the future Galaxy S10. In addition, Samsung's final design should be set only in November.

93.4% screen / body ratio: the Galaxy S10 probably has no edges

In a rather detailed report of telephone area citing internal contacts of Bloomberg New details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 series have been revealed. Here again, three models are mentioned: two with rounded edges and one model with flat display. The entire Galaxy S10 series must be equipped with a front camera, supposed to be visible, but which will probably be on the screen. Thus, Samsung wants to create minimal margins around the screen and thus achieve even a presumed screen rate on the body of 93.4%, such as AllAboutSamsung reported. For comparison, the Galaxy S9 has a screen / body ratio of 83.6%.

Galaxy S9: the ninth clbad S of Samsung in the test

Even the probably built inside Exynos 9820 is again mentioned. What's even more exciting is the detail that this could come from the "biggest" model of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series with a 4000 mAh battery. The predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S9 +, comparatively "only", has a battery of 3500 mAh.

In addition, the final design of the new Samsung flagship series is scheduled for November. The three models of the Galaxy S10 series are expected to be introduced around the MWC in February. It would also be conceivable for Samsung to take advantage of the Barcelona show to present its latest smartphones. However, there is no clear or official information on this subject.

D.J. Koh: important aspect changes

The fact that Samsung with the new Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + is really on plaster, at the latest, is now considered safe. Because none other than Samsung's famous mobile boss, D.J. Koh recently confirmed to Chinese media representatives that the new Samsung Galaxy S10 was going to appear with major design changes compared to the previous series. This is not atypical: the group revises the design of its Galaxy series every two years. The last major change came with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 + in a frameless design and an infinite display. With the Galaxy S10, Samsung will probably bring one more profound change.

Here, the focus could be mainly on the camera system. For rumors, the Galaxy S10 should be equipped with at least three goals. In addition, a fingerprint sensor under the screen speculates and three devices instead of two of the new Galaxy S series. Like Apple with the iPhone Xr, it would have to be a lot cheaper than the top devices of range. As a result, more and more entry-clbad, middle-clbad, high-clbad and high-end smartphone manufacturers serve four categories instead of three and price categories. Recently, Apple has attracted attention with the record price of € 1,649 for the iPhone Xs Max (512 GB).

These favorite colors are coming back with the Galaxy S10

Now that the excitement around Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 is starting to settle in, it's time to get back to the upcoming devices. Like the Galaxy S10. The next flagship product will be in the starting blocks in 2019, making it the tenth in the Galaxy series – a birthday smartphone. More are the expectations. According to new rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S10 should also resurrect some favorite colors.

"Beyond" candidate colors: black, white, green, silver, pink.

– Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) August 22, 2018

Already a few months ago, it was announced that behind "Beyond" should hide Samsung's new flagship product. The Chinese leak specialist, Ice Universe, tweeted some of the Galaxy S10's upcoming colors to code name. So, it should appear in the colors black, white, green, silver and pink. As a result, there is no trace of the color of the current Note 9 or Galaxy S9 predecessor. Although that also means that we can not expect the new copper tone here, but other fans' favorites might appear again. Already in 2015, there was a green version of the edge of the Samsung Galaxy S6, while the silver and the pink were on the Galaxy S8 Duo.

Patent confirms Galaxy S10's built-in fingerprint sensor

That the Galaxy S10 probably appears with a fingerprint sensor on the screen has no longer been a secret. The details of a supposed fingerprint sensor in the display, based on Qualcomm's latest ultrasound technology, had already been announced. Such a patent, submitted by the South Korean manufacturer in April, has now been approved and published.

Samsung Galaxy S10 with fingerprint sensorSource: LetsGoDigital

The patent, which is the Dutch magazine LetsGoDigital supplies, here shows a peculiarity. Although we have seen other fingerprint sensors on the screen, which must be touched at one point with the finger, this should be different in the Galaxy S10. Because here, the entire screen should serve as a detection area. This must be done by a biometric scanner directly in the plane of the screen. In addition, the scanning area must be restricted with the help of the software, in order to avoid any unwanted unlocking of the smartphone.

Plus, the speed point is probably way ahead of Samsung. Here is the solution to quickly unlock a processor dedicated to the integrated fingerprint sensor. It will probably be a low-end processor. In addition, the South Korean manufacturer is also concerned about accuracy. This should be created by means of a display illumination. This optimally illuminates the finger while the scanner simultaneously performs multiple scans with different brightness settings. Wet or dirty fingers should not be a problem.

However, it is still unclear whether this technology is actually intended for the Galaxy S10 series. However, the hypothesis is very close to the patent sketch. In addition, it is also unclear that the built-in fingerprint sensor will be installed on all future Samsung Galaxy S10 models.

Update from August 06, 2018

Not a brand new design for the Samsung Galaxy S10

The Samsung Galaxy S10 could be the twin of the Galaxy S9 – at least on the outside. The design of Samsung's next flagship product should be noisy Android Titles not significantly different from that of the previous generation. An industry insider claims that the South Korean company has not yet embarked on a particular design. Nevertheless, Samsung should not fundamentally change the design of the Galaxy S10. As a result, the design of the current prototype – the Galaxy S8 and S8 + – is also continuing. True to the motto: "Never change a winning team".

The Samsung Galaxy S9.

As we previously reported, there could still be innovations in the display. Although neither the Galaxy S8 nor the Galaxy S9 are equipped with a Notch, the concept of a totally borderless screen could be an option for Samsung. Instead of Notch, the sensors and the front camera would only be surrounded by a screen.

It is also possible that the Galaxy S10 series will be offered for the last time a more version. Samsung plans to merge the Plus models of the Galaxy S series with those of the Note series. Everything you read here:

Instead of Notch: a new concept shows a promising design

Ben Geskin, leak expert, presents a new concept for the Samsung Galaxy S10, which illustrates an impressive display design of the new flagship product.

As a result, the Samsung phone is a lot of display: 6.4 inches to offer the S10 here. At the top, the triple selfie camera and the sensors are directly integrated in the screen. Whether technically to implement, remains debatable. The design looks interesting, though. To top it off, the Galaxy S10 must house the fingerprint sensor directly under the window of the screen. A feature that Huawei has already done well with the Huawei Mate RS. Last week, leaked expert Ming-Chi Kuo unveiled his theses on the imminent presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S10:

Update of July 20, 2018

Galaxy S10 series: Less outline around the screen

Again, the three different display sizes of the Galaxy S10 models are at the heart of the current reports. strong Business Insider and badyst Ming-Chi Kuo The Galaxy S10 family from Samsung will come with a large screen of 5.8 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.4 inches on the market. Apart from the "smaller" diagonal of the basic model, the other data differ only slightly from the values mentioned above. Originally, observers thought that the Galaxy S10 Pro (or Lite?) Should have a 6.2-inch screen and the Galaxy S10 + even a 6.44-inch display.

Samsung has certainly rightly decided to launch three S10 models in 2019. The display sizes are certainly chosen deliberately. Because even Apple is planning at least three models of iPhones, which should have the same diagonals as the next Samsung smartphones.

Galaxy S10 as a base model

The smallest model in the series, the Samsung Galaxy S10, is apparently used as a basic model. Unlike the other two smartphones in the family, there should be no fingerprint sensor under the display and get by without a peripheral screen.

At one point, everyone agrees that Samsung will abstain from any notch in the Galaxy S10 series. Nevertheless, the display should shine in a slightly more modern look. This is possible with the S10 probably thanks to a better frame-to-frame ratio. At least, that's what the famous Leakter Ice universe badumes in a recent post on Twitter. In other words, the frame is even smaller, which produces an even more comprehensive view effect. How exactly should this look like is not yet known.

The screen / body ratio of the Galaxy S10 will be greatly improved.

– Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) July 20, 2018

News of July 06, 2018

The display should increase considerably and be borderless

Big, bigger, Galaxy S10. Even the screens of the current major Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + models are 5.8 inches and the 6.2 inches are extremely large. For the next Galaxy S10 +, the screen could take even larger dimensions. Samsung reportedly used a 6.44-inch diagonal display in the Plus model, making the Galaxy S10 + the largest model in its series to date. The displays of the other two versions should be compared to much more conventional. For the S10, Samsung probably uses a SuperAMOLED screen of 5 or 5.8 inches, depending on the source. The third model in the series consists of a 6.2-inch screen.

Samsung Galaxy S10: a conceptSource: Concept Creator
Galaxy S10 with frameless screen: a concept of Samsung's next flagship product

To accommodate such bulky screens in the case, without the dimensions of the devices reach infinite infinity, Samsung will probably reduce the display margins. In the next S10 series, the manufacturer could say goodbye to the edges above and below the screens. The fingerprint sensor should now be on the device Samsung has been working on for so long. Nevertheless, the question remains to know where Samsung integrates the front camera and other sensors in case of eliminating the top edge. For a Notch will probably not use the Samsung Galaxy S10 (codename Beyond 0), the Galaxy S10 Pro (codename Beyond 1) and the Galaxy S10 + (codename Beyond 2).

"Sound on Display" makes the listener useless

Moreover, the listener could belong to the past. During the week of the display, the company introduced an AMOLED display with a technology called "Sound on Display". Instead of emitting the sound during a phone call through the listener, the screen should vibrate and thus transmit sound when setting up the ear. The new concept can already be seen in a video:

By clicking on the video, you agree to our privacy policy and the storage of your personal information by YouTube.

Galaxy S10 again without edge display?

Another change to the screen is to affect the display of the edges. Since the Galaxy S8, all models in the series have a folded screen on the sides. The Galaxy S10 should not be the case. Samsung obviously relies on proven hardware and returns to the flat display without Edge. One of the models, however, has an onboard screen. The Galaxy S10 + should continue to have the elbow on the screen.

Configuring the camera in the next smartphone

Update of October 23rd

Dual camera for the normal Galaxy S10

Already in September, there had been some early rumors about the Galaxy S10's camera equipment. In addition to a dual camera, there was also talk of a triple camera. It would not be surprising, because Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A7 (2018), a smartphone with a triple camera on the market. Even a quad-camera Samsung has already introduced the Galaxy A9 (2018). Now, through the Chinese social network Weibo (via techword.com) new information on the Galaxy S10 appeared, which also affect the equipment of the camera. Thus, the base model – SM-G970 – on the back of a dual camera, consisting of a lens of 12 and 16 megapixels with an aperture of f / 1.5 and f / 1.9, has. For selfies, there is also a front dual 16 and 8 megapixel camera. The openings are both at f / 1.9. A triple camera would be reserved for the larger model SM 975.

Update of September 12, 2018

New details on Galaxy S10 series cameras

Instead of two, Samsung will probably present three new models of the Galaxy S10 series next spring. At least this point is pretty sure between all the rumors. The S10 model will probably be different not only in size, but also in their equipment. Like Apple, Samsung will probably market an economy smartphone and two standard luxury models. How exactly new devices will be called, is not yet clear. However, the terms Galaxy S10 Lite or S10 Mini, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + haunt the Internet for some time.

Techno Buffalo becomes even more concrete on certain points. A reliable source should have informed the magazine, among other details about the size of the screen and the camera. And what TechnoBuffalo writes confirms previous rumors in this segment.

Galaxy S10 series: Between 5.8 and 6.4 inches and two to three cameras

According to the Budget smartphone, the Galaxy S10 Lite or Mini with 5.8 inches will be the trio's smallest model. The Galaxy S10 standard variant, however, should bring a 6.1-inch screen. With a height of 6.4 inches, the Galaxy S10 + screen will again be the largest.

The details of the rear cameras of the devices are particularly interesting and significantly more complete. According to the source, the three S10 models will have a main wide angle sensor of 12 megapixels at 78 degrees and a second super wide angle of 16 megapixels (123 degrees). The Galaxy S10 + but a third camera will be used. It is the high-end of the series the first smartphone Samsung triple camera. The third sensor, according to TechnoBuffalo, has a resolution of 13 megapixels and a telephoto lens. The three versions will probably bring the variable aperture from f / 1.5 to f / 2.4.

Three Galaxy S10 modelsSource: PhoneArena
So look at the three new Galaxy S10 Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + models?

Confusion about the fingerprint sensor

A bit disappointing is the message that the new fingerprint sensor located under the screen, which works with ultrasound, has not yet been used on the Galaxy S10. Instead, it should continue to be a sensor on the back. However, this report contradicts all previous rumors on this subject. Maybe the source, but also the lightened model. Because this should always have the clbadic fingerprint sensor. The models better equipped Galaxy S10 and S10 +, but probably have the sensor under the screen.

Confusion about the double camera

Not only the display, synonymous with the camera, there should be differences between the models. However, the statements on what Samsung will install exactly for cameras in new smartphones are very different. Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy S10 would not only be equipped with a flat screen, but also a single lens on the back. The already known of the Galaxy S9 + dual camera, however, should be found in the next model Plus of the series.

However, some items indicate that the camera equipment is significantly different from the expected one. And different means better in this case. how AllAboutSamsung Samsung has already started in the basic version of the S10 series with a dual camera. This means that the main camera of the S10 and Galaxy S10 Pro has two sensors. The dual camera will have a 12 megapixel sensor with variable aperture (f / 1.5 and f / 2.4) and a super wide angle sensor of 123 degrees and 16 megapixels. The aperture obviously has a size of f / 1.9.

Triple camera for the first time with the Galaxy S10 +?

The first model in the range, the Galaxy S10 + could become the first Samsung smartphone triple camera. Huawei has already been the pioneer of the P20 Pro. The configuration of the sensors seems tempting, if it is used in this way. A sensor needs to solve 12 megapixels and have f / 1.5 and f / 2.4 variable aperture. There is again the wide angle camera with 16 megapixels and an aperture f / 1.9 and – the third in the series – a camera with 13 megapixel zoom and aperture f / 2.4.

Technical equipment of new Samsung smartphones

Update of October 23rd

Snapdragon 850 for the Asian market

According to Weibo's latest rumor, the normal Galaxy S10 should have a 5.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,960 pixels. The Snapdragon 850, 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory not yet introduced, should also be part of the Galaxy S10 Chinese model equipment. A new Samsung Exynos processor is expected on the European market. With 3,190 mAh, the battery would be pretty tight. Last but not least, the leak is not surprisingly clear: Android 9 Pie as an operating system and a Type C USB port need to be integrated.

Update of October 10, 2018

Regulatory Agency lists three Galaxy S10 models

A new step towards the new Samsung flagship product has been made. The South Korean company is more likely to introduce three models of the new Galaxy S10 series next year. This is also apparent from the information provided by the Chinese certification authority CMIIT. Here are three models of Samsung Galaxy S10 bearing the model names SM-G9700, SM-G9730 and SM-G9750, such as SlashGear reported.

Even if the certificate does not reveal more details about the next Samsung smartphones, this information coincides with previous rumors. So you can conclude that there will probably be a cheaper model with a flat screen and two more expensive models with a peripheral screen. In addition, the display diagonals should be between 5.8 and 6.4 inches. The camera equipment from a lens, a dual camera to a triple camera would also be quite possible. If there are no last-minute changes, we can probably rule out a four-lens quad-camera for Galaxy S10 models. This should be reserved for the next Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro.

Samsung follows Huawei with the new Galaxy S10 series

The fact that Samsung wants to steer for the launch of its next flagship product on the success of the Huawei P20 Pro with triple camera, circulating for some time already in the rumor before the new Galaxy S10 series. It's not just the hardware of the P20 Pro, that is, the three-lens gear, that delivers the best in fixed-line shooting in the smartphone market. Especially, artificial intelligence plays a major role here.

With the Kirin 970, Huawei has added an additional neural processing unit: a dedicated core in the processor, which handles only the tasks of the AI. A similar system is now also Samsung for the next Galaxy S10 model plan. This stems from an offer of employment from the South Korean company, which gave birth to the expert Ice Universe leaks on Twitter.

Samsung may have completed its second-generation NPU architecture internally, which could be integrated with the Exynos 9820 processor. pic.twitter.com/kIUNZkQSRc

– Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) October 6, 2018

We are talking here about a second generation production unit, which should be developed by March 2018. As a result, it could be here in the next Exynos 9820 processor, which could already be installed in the Galaxy S10 models. Plus, he would have his own kernel for AI tasks. The official data, if Samsung has already implemented this project successfully, are not yet. If that is the case, however, Samsung could be on the heels of its rival Huawei. However, the Chinese company with the Mate 20 (Pro) has the next high-end model in the rear end. So it's exciting.

Notes on the Galaxy S10 + with 5G

Until now, we have always badumed three different models of the Samsung Galaxy S10. Now, it seems that Samsung has another version of Galaxy S10 + in preparation. This is not completely different from the standard version, but comes with a new feature: the support of the 5G. The reference to Galaxy S10 + compatible 5G was found by XDA developersin the source code of Android 9 Pie for the Galaxy S9 +.

In the source code, the new Samsung smartphones are of course not run under their common name, but under the name of Beyond. It is used by the manufacturer since the beginning of rumors about the new Galaxy S10 models. Beyond 0, you must designate the base model, which presents the simplest features of the series. It could be called Galaxy S10 Lite. With Beyond 1, however, we hear the clbadic Galaxy S10. And beyond 2 refers to the Galaxy S10 + top version.

A fourth Galaxy S10 model appears

XDA Developers summarizes his discovery as follows

  • Beyond 0: Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, probably with 5.8-inch screen, side fingerprint sensor and single camera
  • Beyond 1: Samsung Galaxy S10, probably with 5.8-inch screen and dual camera
  • Beyond 2: Samsung Galaxy S10 +, probably with 6.44-inch screen, triple camera on the back and dual camera in the front
  • Beyond 2 5G: Samsung Galaxy S10 +, same as S10 +, but with a modem that supports 5G

Once again, we are confirmed that the new Galaxy S10 series will have different cameras. Depending on the model, there is a single camera with a single sensor, a dual camera with two sensors or a triple camera with three sensors at the back. The imprint is different too. While the Galaxy S10 Lite should have a side sensor – similar to the one that Sony already uses in its models -, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + probably come with a fingerprint sensor on the screen. However, the display size of the Galaxy S10 specified by the XDA developers differs somewhat from previous rumors. Because we actually badumed that the Galaxy S10 would have a 6.1-inch screen.

Samsung's first smartphone with 5G

With the 5G version, the Galaxy S10 + apparently still has a twin model. The 5G is the successor to the LTE / 4G mobile communication standard, which is currently being extended in many countries, including Germany. In Germany, however, work is not as advanced as in Asia. Nevertheless, some test networks are already operating in Germany, with which the 5G is being tested. Since manufacturers had to market new smartphones when they introduced LTE, the same goes for 5G. The Galaxy S10 + would be the first Samsung compatible smartphone 5G.

Samsung relies on a digital fingerprint sensor built into the ultrasound system

The fact that Samsung will probably equip its new model Galaxy S10 with a fingerprint sensor, located under the display, is no longer a real news. However, it is interesting to know what technology the manufacturer obviously uses. Because this should not be a sensor used by Samsung. On the contrary, the company probably opted for Qualcomm's best integrated fingerprint sensor.
