12. Januar: Hotel in Finnland mit Zimmern im "Game of Thrones"-Stil

Bis es endlich mit "Game of Thrones" Staffel 8 weitergeht, dauert es noch. Fans müssen noch ein Jahr lang warten, bis die finale Staffel der HBO-Erfolgsserie ausgestrahlt wird. Wer sich die Wartezeit verkürzen möchte, kann das im Frühjahr in Lappland machen: Seit Mitte Dezember und noch bis Anfang April können einem Snow Village der Lapland Hotels Hotelzimmer im GoT-Stil gebucht werden. In Kooperation mit HBO Nordic wurde dort das Snow Village Game of Thrones errichtet.

Das Snow Village ist aus insgesamt 20 Millionen Kilogramm Schnee und 350.000 Kilogramm natürlichem Eis gebaut, so heißt es auf der Homepage der Hotelkette. In den Schnee Hotels gibt es nicht nur Räume und Suiten, sondern auch Restaurants und Bars aus Schnee und Eis. In diesem Jahr bezieht sich das gesamte Hotel auf das Thema "Game of Thrones". Daran haben sich Eis-Bildhauer aus Russland, Polen, Lettland und der Ukraine beteiligt.

 

Mit im Hotel: Ein lebensgroßer Eisener Thron aus Eis, die Halle der Gesichter aus Braavos und ein Weißer Wanderer mit strahlenden blauen Augen.

10. Januar: "Game of Thrones"-Staffel 7 im deutschen Free-TV. Die Sendetermine

Bald können deutsche Fans von "Game of Thrones" zwar nicht die finale Staffel 8, dafür aber immerhin die aktuelle Staffel 7 im Free-TV bei RTL II sehen. Der Sender strahlt die Serie ab Februar immer am Samstagabend aus. Bis es losgeht, strahlt RTL 2 in Doppelfolgen die GoT-Staffeln 5 und 6 aus. Wer bisher ausgehalten hat und die siebte Staffel noch nicht kennt, kann sich auf spannende Folgen freuen. Der Winter hat begonnen – wie immer spielen Intrigen, Beziehungen und natürlich Drachen eine wichtige Rolle. 9. Januar: Brad Pitt hätte gern einen "Game of Thrones"-Abend mit Emilia Clarke

Ist Brad Pitt ein Fan von "Game of Thrones" oder von "Daenerys Targaryen"-Darstellerin Emilia Clarke? Medienberichte sind sich nicht sicher. Auslöser für diese Frage war die siebte alljährliche Sean Penn & Friends Benefizgala für Haiti, die am Samstag abgehalten worden ist. Einer der versteigerten Preise: Ein Serienabend mit der "Mother of Dragons" selbst, Emilia Clarke. Brad Pitt war einer der Bieter für diesen Preis, von dem wohl jeder GoT-Fan träumt.

Wie unter Anderem das People Magazine berichtet, soll Brad Pitt zunächst telefoniert haben – um dann plötzlich zu applaudieren, als der Serienabend mit Emilia Clarke als Preis ausgerufen wurde. Die Auktion begann bei 20.000 Dollar, Brad Pitt selbst stieg mit 80.000 Dollar Gebot für einen "Game of Thrones"-Abend mit der Hauptdarstellerin ein. "Nur weil es Brad Pitt ist, heißt das nicht, dbad ihr nicht gegen ihn bieten könnt!", rief der Auktionator.

Immerhin: Emilia Clarke hatte ihren Spaß bei der Verlosung eines "Game of Thrones"-Abends mit ihr. Vielleicht hätte sie sich auch gefreut, einen Abend mit Brad Pitt zu gewinnen, doch sein höchstes Angebot lag bei 120.000 Dollar. Als die Auktion 150.000 Dollar erreichte, stieg der Hollywood-Star aus. Ein Paar ersteigerte den Serienabend mit der "Daenerys Targaryen"-Darstellerin schließlich für 160.000 Dollar.

4. Januar: Letzte "Game of Thrones"-Staffel startet nicht vor 2019

Fans der HBO-Serie "Game of Thrones" müssen sich gedulden: Die achte und letzte Staffel des Fantasy-Dramas wird erst im Jahr 2019 auf Sendung gehen. Dies gab der US-Sender HBO am Donnerstag bekannt. Ein genauer Starttermin für die geplanten sechs Folgen wurde nicht genannt. Laut der knappen Mitteilung sind David Benioff, Daniel Brett Weiss, David Nutter und Miguel Sapochnik als Regisseure an Bord. 

Das mehrfach ausgezeichnete Fantasy-Drama war im vergangenen Sommer in die siebte Staffel gestartet. Fans hatten zunächst gehofft, dbad die finale Staffel der Kultserie 2018 erscheint.

"Schickt einen Raben. Die 'Game of Thrones' Briefmarken-Sammlung kommt."

Das britische Postunternehmen Royal Mail hat sich mit Serienproduzent HBO zusammengetan: Ab Ende Januar können Fans von "Game of Thrones" John Schnee, Cersei Lennister oder Daenerys Targaryen mit der Post verschicken – oder die limitierten Briefmarken einfach nur sammeln. Statt "Winter is coming" heißt es auf der Homepage "Stamp Collection is coming". Royal Mail schreibt: "Wir feiern 'Game of Thrones' in einer epischen neuen Briefmarken-Sammlung."

Insgesamt gibt es zehn "Game of Thrones"-Marken mit wichtigen Charakteren der großen Häuser. Sie zeigen John Schnee, Ned, Sansa und Arya Stark, Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion und Tywin Lennister, Olenna Tyrell und natürlich die "Mother of Dragons", Daenerys Targaryen. Ein weiteres Briefmarken-Blatt, das zusätzlich erhältlich ist, beinhaltet außerdem folgende fünf Briefmarken im "Game of Thrones"-Stil: Die Schattenwölfe, die Riesen, die Drachen, den Eisernen Thron, sowie den Nachtkönig und die weißen Wanderer.

Da einige GoT-Produkte von Daily Mail und HBO auf nur 1500 Stück limitiert sind, empfiehlt das Postunternehmen, die Fan-Produkte noch vor dem 23. Januar vorzubestellen. Unter den besonderen Briefmarken-Produkten zu "Game of Thrones" sind etwa ein 24-seitiges "Prestige Stamp Book" mit "Hinter den Kulissen"-Infoseiten zur Anfangssequenz der Serie, dem Set- und Kostüm-Design, den Drachen und "ikonischen Kampf-Szenen". Weitere Sets enthalten spezielle Präsentations-Karten für die Charaktere, gerahmte Briefmarken oder Metall-Plaketten.

29. Dezember: "Game of Thrones" ist schon zum sechsten Mal  in Folge die am häufigsten geklaute TV-Serie

Drama und Intrigen, Drachen und Wölfe, Nacktszenen und Gewalt: Offenbar hat "Game of Thrones" auch in der siebten Staffel – die viele Fans als "zu Mainstream" kritisiert hatten – auf die richtige Mischung gesetzt. Zum sechsten Mal in Folge ist GoT die "most pirated TV-show on the Internet", oder zu Deutsch: Die Fernsehserie, die am meisten illegal aus dem Internet heruntergeladen worden ist. Das berichtet torrentfreak.com.

Demnach war "Game of Thrones" zum wiederholten Male die Serie, die illegal im Internet geteilt oder weitergegeben wurde. Besonders das Staffelfinale soll demnach eine Menge Zuschauer angezogen haben – legal wie illegal. Die Zahlen, die torrentfreak vorliegen, beziehen sich auf illegales Herunterladen weltweit. Allerdings bezieht sich die Seite hauptsächlich auf Downloads via BitTorrent.

Auf "Game of Thrones" folgt, wie im letzten Jahr ebenfalls, die Zombie-Serie "The Walking Dead". Die DC-Universe-Serie "The Flash" ist in diesem Jahr auf Platz 3, gefolgt von der Sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" und Newcomer "Rick and Morty". Die weiteren Serien in den Top 10 der am meisten illegal heruntergeladenen TV-Serien sind "Prison Break", "Sherlock", "Vikings", "Suits" und "Arrow".

22. Dezember: "Game of Thrones" hat jetzt das Bier zur Serie

Die belgische Brauerei Ommegang hat "Game of Thrones" in Kooperation mit HBO eine weitere Bier-Kollektion gewidmet. Die Brauerei hat in der Vergangenheit immer wieder neue Sorten, angelehnt an "Game of Thrones", herausgebraucht. 2018 sollen nun insgesamt vier neue GoT-Sorten erscheinen.

Das erste Bier der "Royal Reserve Collection" wird Tyrion Lannister gewidmet und heißt "Die Hand der Königin", wie es auf dem offiziellen Blog der Brauerei heißt. Jedes Bier der Kollektion soll eine Hommage an einen jeweiligen "Game of Thrones"- Charakter sein. Das starke Ale, das Tyrion Lannister repräsentiert, soll im April 2018 erscheinen, ist allerdings vorerst nur in den USA erhältlich. (AZ)
