Smartphone users lose their mobile phone almost seven times a year. This is the result of at least one study commissioned by renowned window manufacturer Cornig for the development of his latest creation, the "Gorilla Glbad 6".
The study found that a large proportion (about 68%) of all smartphone accidents of an average height of one meter. In fact, it is not necessarily very high.
According to John Bayne, Corning's vice president, it's rather a repetitive stress burden due to falls that causes many cracked displays. As a result, the new Gorilla Glbad is now "specifically designed to withstand repeated drops in strength," Bayne said. The resistance test showed that the new material survived an average of fifteen falls from a height of one meter. If the actual values match, the glbad is actually extremely resistant to stress.
