Harley-Davidson challenges Trump boycott call

MILWAUKEE – Harley-Davidson motorcycle builder is surprisingly well done this summer, despite strong criticism from US President Donald Trump. Thanks in large part to strong activity in Europe, revenues increased by 16.8% to $ 1.1 billion.

Earnings also jumped from $ 68.2 to $ 113.9 million in the three months leading up to the end of September, the US economy's 115-year-old icon said on Tuesday. Thus, the forecasts were clearly exceeded, the stock rose significantly before the stock market.

In the US market, sales have collapsed. President Trump has repeatedly criticized the American cult maker and even boycotted his calls. Trump is unhappy that Harley-Davidson wants to relocate some of its production abroad because of the punitive tariffs imposed on it by the trade dispute with the government.

"Many Harley-Davidson owners are considering boycotting the company when production will be transferred abroad, that's great!" Trump tweeted in mid-August. Harley has a long history of struggling with aging customers in the United States.
