November 9, 2018 will land as a curiosity in the agenda of the ÖEHV.

After the match delayed due to the loss of the bag at Frankfurt airport, the Austrian national ice hockey team is preparing for the first round of the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge in Gdansk against Norway with 14 players in the outdoor field. In addition, from the new appointment at 20:30, nothing is more, the damaged ice force another shift to 21:00.

Finally, only one third is completed. Fabio Hofer (17th) places Austria in the lead. As the condition of the ice deteriorates during the first break, it stops abruptly after 20 minutes of play.

This will decide the tournament in just two games each. Because the first match between Poland and Denmark had to be canceled 17 minutes before the end, also because of the broken ice. According to the ÖEHV, the problems could come from the thin ice cover covering the newly installed advertising space.

The next match of Austria is scheduled Saturday at 14:00 against Denmark. The final is against Poland (Sunday, 17:30, live on LAOLA1.tv).
