Rider Ina Meschik has announced her retirement from active sport! Aged 28, he was part of the ÖSV World Cup team for eleven seasons.

In addition to the triumph of the Parallelriesentorlauf at Carezza (ITA) in December 2016, the Villach driver has won seven other podiums in the World Cup. In the 2015/16 season, Meschik was third in the World Cup Parallel Slalom discipline.

At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Carinthian finished fourth in the parallel giant slalom race and has just won a medal. A sixth place finish in Vancouver 2010 (PGS) and an eighth place in Sochi (PSL) and Pyeongchang 2018 (PGS) are also taking part in the Meschik Olympics. When competing in four world championships, an eighth place in the parallel giant slalom in Sierra Nevada (ESP) in 2017 was their best ranking.

The Carinthian compatriot of Meschik, Johann Stefaner, also ends his career. Stefaner won the overall clbadification of the European Parallelboarder Cup in the 2012/13 and 2016/17 rankings respectively and was second in the EC last season. At the March 2015 World Cup, the 28-year-old finished eighth in the parallel slalom in Moscow, placing in the top ten.
