Apple introduced a small but interesting innovation in iOS 12.1. The new iPhones of 2018 can detect if the built-in battery is an energy cell sold by Apple. If iOS 12.1 detects that a battery from a third party source has been installed in the device, the user is faced with a warning about the battery.

But the foreign battery has another consequence: the battery status function is disabled. Subsequently, users are no longer able to see the status of the battery and disable any regulation activated by the system.

Apple's policy regarding third-party components has always been very restrictive.
