A day after the launch of sales worldwide, the iPhone XR has landed in Austria. The reason for this delay is that our national holiday this year fell exactly on Friday, at which Apple brought its cheapest smartphone on the market. The iPhone XR is available at Apple (online store), in the specialty trade and at major mobile radio operators. We have already provided A1 with a white test device (see photos). We will test this in the next few days and then report on its impact on everyday life. One thing in advance: there is nothing wrong with the "cheap iPhone" in terms of processing and material quality. How many devices have been delivered to Austria, the US group has not revealed. However, the first batch should not have been too complete. Because in Apple's online store, the waiting time for pre-order is currently one to two weeks (from November 5th to 12th):

The iPhone XR was introduced with the iPhone XS and XS Max, available in Austria since September 21st. In our big test, the flagship Apple product of 6.5 inches has already proven that it 's been an excellent smartphone. However, we did not find justified the extremely high price of at least 1,249 euros. The same goes for the 5.8-inch model, identical to the size of the Max version and whose cost is at least 1,149 euros. Now, there is finally an alternative, for all iPhone fans who are just too expensive XS devices, but still do not want to give up the X-Look.

Pre-orders for iPhone XR are possible from October 19th (from 9am). Here is the price list starts at 849 euros. Although this price is still far from advantageous, compared to the two best models, the Apple smartphone of 6.1 inches is always cheap. In the first US tests, the iPhone XR was already convincing. The substantial price advantage can largely offset reductions such as LCD screens (1792 x 828 Px, 326 dpi) instead of OLED screens, no 3D touch, 12 MP single instead of two main cameras, IP67 at place of IP68 and Alu certification instead of glbad. All the more so as the ultra-fast Bionic A12 processor and the sophisticated deep-focus front camera for Face ID are also present on the iPhone XR. In addition, Apple only offers this smartphone in bright colors such as red, yellow or blue.

On the front, the iPhone XR is not visually different from the high end models. On the back, it is recognizable by the colors and the unique camera. In addition to the entry-level version of 64 GB, the Apple smartphone is also available with 128 GB (909 euros) and 256 GB (1,019 euros). With large providers of home portable radios, the Smartphone must also have a contract (from 0 euros).
