Up to now, Opel has remained fairly unscathed in the exhaust gas scandal – preliminary investigations against the group have been dropped. However, the Kraftfahrtbundesamt asks the car manufacturer, however, some answers to the emissions control.

Opel has to deal with the diesel scandal because of the operation of exhaust gas purification in three models of an audition. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the federal Department of Transport. Previously, the "Bild am Sonntag" reported on this.

"Before the outcome of this hearing can be said to the inadmissibility of the Abschalteinrichtung nothing conclusive," said the spokesman of the Federal Ministry of Transport. He gave no details and the number of vehicles involved. According to the report, Opel now has two weeks to file a statement with the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).

No mandatory booster until now

A spokesman for the company explained that Opel had no decision from the KBA. Open procedures would not be commented. However, the spokesman pointed out that Opel had already identified opportunities for improvement in December 2015 "and launched a technology initiative for more transparency, credibility and efficiency for the benefit of customers" . Part of these voluntary measures is an action for the previous generation Opel Insignia models, Zafira Tourer and Cascada with Euro 6 and SCR technology from the 2013-2016 model years.

Unlike other builders, Opel had until then done a service reminder. The Frankfurt prosecutor's office had stopped preliminary investigations more than a year ago
