As the "cultural capital" of the district, Lan Genlois has made a name for itself and has been awarded the title of "Most Respectful Community of Culture". The diversity of cultural events, the big summer events on Loisiarte, the agricultural and autumnal culture with many individual events, attracts visitors not only from the Kamptalstadt region.
What makes Langenlois culturally different and better than other cities "In 2010, culture was still under the responsibility of the Culture Committee," said Mayor Harald Leopold during the development of the mission statement following which a cultural direction has been set up. "Robert Stadler has managed to develop an annual program for tourists and locals," he sees the success of events as an advertisement for Langenlois: "Culture and tourism fertilize each other."
For the existence of the Castle Festival, he sees Pillar "as the indispensable gala concerts.Another problem:" Outdoor events are always a risk because of the weather ", is the subject of the cover of the area of the stands in the castle park (after discussions in the past) not quite out of the way for Leopold "Kufstein arrived on the Josefsburg",
there is of course the cost factor, the profitability and also the protection of the monuments to consider. "The wide range of the Langenois cultural life takes into account many interests and tastes and makes the success" The cultural consultant Brigitte Reiter is she sure? And she knows: "Creative artists like to come to us, they like the flair of the place and places like the Winzerhöfe." The cultural engagement of many people, for example, in small galleries of cadastral communities testifies to a functional cultural life.
One of the highlights each summer – now since 1996 – is undoubtedly the Castle Festival. The operetta performances on the stage of Haindorf Castle have a varied history behind them. With much dedication and personal commitment, for example, the catastrophic year of the 2002 floods has been brought under control. The municipality is in any case behind the Schlossfestspiele project, the province of Lower Austria has granted a three-year grant agreement, which has always been extended.
This year is "The Bird Trader" by Carl Zeller on the program – an operetta that for the first 116 years ranks among the top ten charts of the operetta.
The musical quality is guaranteed by the artistic director Andreas Stoehr, who directs the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. He promises for this year a staging "intelligent, original and colorful", promotes "intimate and unique atmosphere" in Langenlois and the wine village. "We have to win more friends for this place," says the art director.
On stage at the "Vogelhändler": a mixture of tried-and-true singers from Langenlois and "fresh blood": Theresa Dittmar badumes the role of Christel von the post office. After great successes in Vienna, Zurich or Mörbisch, the young soprano appears for the first time on the Schlossbühne in Haindorf this year.
She is badisted by Oliver Ringelhahn as a bird dealer Adam. He has already performed at the Salzburg Festival, Theater an der Wien, Semperoper Dresden and many other big houses. From the United States, Jennifer Davison arrives in Langenlois with her "warm and radiant voice". She proves her skills as a voter. The last two are not foreign to the festival-goers: we still remember very well the production "Wiener Blut" (2013).
Michael Scheidl directs, as the year before. "We bring the operetta in the present," he promises, "there will surely be a lot of laughs." Premiere will take place on Thursday, July 19th at 8:30 pm. Additional performances on 20, 21, 27 (sold out) and on July 28 and August 3 and 4 at 8:30 pm. On Sunday, July 29, a performance will be scheduled at 5:30 pm
