Japans Fußball-Verband will den Vertrag von Trainer Akira Nishino nach dem Achtelfinal-Aus bei der WM in Russland nicht verlängern. „Wir werden Nishino nicht überreden, weiterzumachen, nachdem seine Zeit als Nationaltrainer endet“, sagte Verbandschef Kozo Tashima nach der Rückkehr des Teams nach Japan am Donnerstag. Als Nachfolger für Nishino ist Medienberichten zufolge auch der frühere Bundestrainer Jürgen Klinsmann im Gespräch, mit ihm soll der Verband demzufolge bereits Verhandlungen aufgenommen haben.

Der Verband wollte die Gerüchte um Klinsmann und mögliche weitere Trainerkandidaten nicht kommentieren. „Es ist noch nichts entschieden“, sagte Tashima am Donnerstag auf die Frage, wer der nächste Nationaltrainer des Landes werde. Der vorherige Sportdirektor Nishino hatte das Amt im April nach der plötzlichen Trennung von Vahid Halilhodzic übernommen. Er hatte die Blauen Samurai zum dritten Mal in die K.o.-Runde einer WM geführt, dort schied die Mannschaft beim 2:3 gegen Belgien durch ein Gegentor in der Nachspielzeit aus.

Die WM in Russland ist für Schiedsrichter Felix Brych einem Bericht der „Bild“ zufolge mit nur einem Vorrunden-Einsatz beendet. Der Münchner steht nicht mehr auf der Liste für die weiteren Partien in der K.o.-Runde, wie die Zeitung am Mittwoch schrieb. Der Weltverband Fifa wollte dies zunächst nicht bestätigen, kündigte aber eine Mitteilung an.

Brych hatte bei der WM das brisante Duell der Schweiz mit Serbien geleitet und war danach wegen eines nicht gegebenen Elfmeters von serbischer Seite angefeindet worden. Als bislang letzte deutsche Referees hatten Walter Eschweiler und Adolf Prokop 1982 bei einer WM jeweils nur einen Auftritt gehabt. Bei seiner ersten WM in Brasilien vor vier Jahren hatte Brych noch zwei Vorrundenspiele geleitet.

Nach Tagen der Anfeindungen hat sich ZDF-Kommentatorin Claudia Neumann erstmals zu den badistischen Beleidigungen gegen sie geäußert. „Ich finde das einfach grauenvoll“, sagte die 54-Jährige der „Zeit“ (Donnerstag). „Man kann den Menschen nur immer wieder zurufen: Geht länger zur Schule. Bildet euch weiter, erweitert euren Bewusstseinshorizont, dann lernt man auch, andere Haltungen zu tolerieren.“ Die Hetze gerade in sozialen Netzwerken sei „kein Claudia-Neumann-Problem, sondern ein gesellschaftliches Phänomen“. Während der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft ist Neumann online aufs Übelste beschimpft worden. Das ZDF stellte Strafantrag gegen zwei Nutzer.

Neumann ist die einzige Frau, die im deutschen Fernsehen Spiele der WM in Russland kommentiert hat – viele Beleidigungen waren frauenfeindlich. „Vielleicht brauchen Männer ihre kleine Oase des Rückzugs, in der man sie Kind sein lässt“, sagte Neumann nun dazu. Verändert habe sie ihre Arbeit angesichts der Hetzer nicht. „Ich knicke doch nicht vor diesen Leuten ein.“
