After the first summer competitions in Wisla (POL) and Hinterzarten (GER), the ÖSV Jumping Team is in action then at Einsiedeln (SUI) and Courchevel (FRA). Recent comparisons with international competition have not yielded the desired results.
Although the ÖSV sprint team at Hinterzarten with five athletes in the second round compared to Wisla (two jumpers in the final) could improve the team, Stefan Kraft being the best Austrian in 16th place but was still far behind their own claims, In Wisla Kraft was the best Austrian after all landed in the top ten.
At the next station of Einsiedeln, Michael Hayböck will also be back, for the last time in Hinterzarten.
Manuel Fettner is currently training with the combiners at Lillehammer (NOR) – a decision in good agreement with head coach Andi Felder to work on the fine tuning of the technique and jump equipment. Fettner will be back in the team as soon as possible at the Stams Continental Cup in early September.
As in Hinterzarten, Stefan Huber finishes with his brother Daniel, the youngest of the "Huber Brothers", the ÖSV team of Einsiedeln and Courchevel.
ÖSV women join men in France next week
Chiara Hölzl finished fifth and Jaqueline Seifriedsberger finished seventh in the women's summer opener at Hinterzarten last weekend. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz had to rest in the leg due to a cartilage injury, but should return to Courchevel next week. There are two consecutive days each, a women's and men's competition on the program.
Mario Stecher:
"I see good approaches Gregor Schlierenzauer with his fourth place in training at Hinterzarten, or the exceptional jump of Stefan Kraft on the second run at Wisla. that you have to say very clearly: of course, it is still too little globally. We have seen in the seasonal badysis that our jumpers make mistakes in the jump field, so it is clear that we do not let's not talk about materials. We have to really start with ourselves and that's what we do.We are now in a phase where you can take a step back before you can go back.It is absolutely clear at the beginning I am confident and hope that we can get back on track until the winter.
