Microsoft has announced two more studio acquisitions at the end of the Inside Xbox episode of the Xbox FanFest X018 in Mexico. Microsoft Studios acquired Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment.
There have already been several rumors about the acquisition of Obsidian Entertainment in recent weeks. The studio based in Irvine, California has you. at. Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, Alpha Protocol, Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Scepter of Truth, Pillars of Eternity, Armored War, Tyranny and Pillars of eternity 2: Deadfire. Obsidian Entertainment was about to shut down in 2012, with Armored Warfare and an ongoing Killstarter Isometric RPG (Pillars of Eternity) campaign.
inXile Entertainment from Newport Beach, California to you. at. Desert 2, Torment: The tides of Numenera and Bard's Tale 4 have developed. Currently, Wasteland 3 is under preparation.
Obsidian Entertainment will operate independently as inXile Entertainment. The studio is one of 13 developer teams under the banner of the Microsoft Studios family.
